Luftwaffe, subtitled The Game of Aerial Combat Over Germany 1943-45, is an operational board wargame simulating the American strategic bombing campaign against Germany in the Second World War. Designed by Lou Zocchi, it was originally released by Poultron Press in 1969 and was subsequently acquired and republished by Avalon Hill in 1971. The game is played by two players, one commanding American bomber and fighter groups and the other commanding German air defenses, using a large mounted hex map at a scale of twenty miles per hex, more than 180 die-cut counters, and target selection forms that simulate bombing mission planning. It can be played at a Basic level covering a single air raid of about twenty turns, or at Advanced and Tournament levels simulating a three-month bombing campaign spread across ten separate raids.
