Lord of the Rings Adventure Game

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Lord of the Rings Adventure Game is a fantasy role playing game published by Iron Crown Enterprises in 1991 under license from Tolkien Enterprises, based on J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. It was designed by Jessica M. Ney and Pete Fenlon as an introductory role playing experience meant for newcomers and gamemasters, serving as a stepping stone toward Iron Crown's more elaborate Middle Earth Role Playing game. The boxed set included a thirty two page rulebook, maps, character cards and a sixty four page scenario booklet containing an adventure called Dawn Comes Early, in which players rescue a companion and encounter trolls and Gandalf.
