K2 is a board game designed by Adam Kaluza and published by Rebel.pl in 2011, in which one to five players take on the challenge of climbing K2, the world's second-highest mountain and one regarded by mountaineers as among the most dangerous peaks to summit. The game is built around hand management and resource allocation, as players plan their climbers' ascent while managing limited supplies, unpredictable weather and the physical toll of high-altitude climbing, balancing the drive to reach the summit against the risk of pushing a climber too far. Each player guides a small team of mountaineer pieces up the mountain, tracking both altitude gained and the climbers' remaining physical condition, so that reckless progress can leave a climber too weakened to finish. The design was well received in the hobby board game community for translating real mountaineering risk into board game mechanics.
