Just One (board game)

Just One is a cooperative party game designed by Ludovic Roudy and Bruno Sautter, published by Repos Production in 2018, in which one player each round tries to guess a secret word while every other player simultaneously and secretly writes a one-word clue intended to help. Before the guesser sees any clues, duplicate clues among the other players are automatically removed, so the group succeeds only when each helper independently lands on a clue distinctive enough not to match a teammate's, which pushes the game's real challenge toward reading how obvious or how clever a hint will seem to everyone else at once. The entire group wins or loses together across a shared scorepad rather than competing against each other, and the game requires no special equipment beyond its included cards, whiteboards and markers, which contributed to it winning the Spiel des Jahres, Germany's leading annual board game award, in 2019.
