Istanbul is a Euro-style board game designed by Ruediger Dorn, illustrated by Andreas Resch and Hans-Georg Schneider, and published in 2014 by Pegasus Spiele. Two to five players take the role of merchants moving through the stalls of a marketplace represented by a grid of tiles, each player controlling a merchant piece along with several assistants who can be left behind on tiles to reserve favorable actions for a later turn. The central goal is to be the first merchant to collect a set number of rubies, gathered by fulfilling the specific resource and money requirements of each market stall visited, which range from selling fabric and collecting fruit to bargaining with a caravansary or paying off the local governor. A typical game takes about fifty minutes and is recommended for players aged ten and up. Istanbul won the 2014 Kennerspiel des Jahres.
