Inkognito is a board game for three to five players designed by Alex Randolph and Leo Colovini and first published in 1988 by the Milton Bradley Company. It is set in Venice and built around a spy theme: every player secretly holds one half of a mission briefing and is paired, without knowing it, with another player holding the other half. To win, a player must work out which of the other participants is their real partner, trade message halves with that person, learn the full mission, and then carry it out before the other pairs do the same. A five player variant adds an ambassador role whose own path to victory is instead to correctly work out every other player's true identity. The game draws some of its hidden partnership mechanics from the older Italian card game Briscola Chiamata. It earned the Spiel des Jahres jury's special award for most beautiful game in the year of its release.
