Hoo Hey How

Hoo Hey How is a Chinese dice game played with three identical six-sided dice, each face marked with one of six symbols rather than the usual pips. Players bet on which symbols will turn up when the dice are thrown, and payouts follow how many of the chosen symbol appear. The game belongs to a wider family of regional betting games built on the same basic mechanic: it is closely related to Vietnam's Bau cua ca cop and Cambodia's Klah Klok, and it plays similarly to the West Indian game Crown and Anchor and the American game chuck-a-luck, all of which use three dice with a fixed set of symbols or suits standing in for ordinary numbered faces.
