Headache (game)

Children's board game

Headache is a children's board game for two to four players in which cone-shaped pieces move around a dual-track circular path and try to capture every opposing piece. Designed by brothers Paul and Frank Kohner, it was first published in 1968 by Kohner Brothers and later carried by Milton Bradley and CBS Electronics. Play uses a pop-o-matic dice roller sealed under a plastic dome, so a die can be rolled without the dice or the dome itself becoming lost, a mechanism the game shares with several other Kohner Brothers titles from the same era. Captured pieces are stacked beneath the capturing piece rather than removed from the board, changing how a stack can later be recaptured. Recommended for players aged five and up, a game typically runs about twenty minutes, and the title has also circulated under the name Brain Ache.
