Hammer of the Scots is a two-player historical wargame from 2002 about the medieval struggle between Scotland and England, designed by Jerry Taylor and Tom Dalgliesh and published by Columbia Games, with editions from Banana Games and Doit Games. Play is driven by cards, while combat is resolved with dice. Both sides choose actions at the same time, so each player commits without knowing what the opponent will do. Armies are deployed as hidden units, and the allegiance of individual nobles can shift during the campaign, which keeps both players guessing about the forces waiting in each region. A full campaign takes about three hours for players aged twelve and up. Digital versions are available through Rally the Troops, Steam and VASSAL.
