Guandan

Guandan is a shedding-type card game that originated in Jiangsu province in China, with its modern form traced to the city of Huai'an in the 1960s. It is played by four people in two partnerships of two players seated across from each other, who cooperate to be the first pair to empty their hands of cards while advancing through an escalating sequence of required card ranks. The game combines observation, memory and team strategy, and by 2020 was reported to be played by more than twenty million people in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, supported by dedicated television programs and online platforms.
