Grobhäusern

Grobhäusern, also called Grobhaus, is a historical German vying card game in which two to eight players bet and then compare four-card combinations, played with a 32-card deck. The game originated in Germany and became especially popular in rural Upper Saxony during the late eighteenth century, though it was generally prohibited in most regions because of its gambling character. Its vying structure places it alongside other bet-and-compare card games of the period, where the value of a player's four-card hand, not tricks won, decided who took the stake.
