Godzilla Game is a board game released by Mattel in 1978 as a licensed tie in with Toho's Godzilla film franchise, aimed at players aged five and up. The set centers on a spring loaded Godzilla figure that produces sound effects during play, positioned at the middle of the board as a threat the other pieces must navigate around. Between two and four players each control a fleet of small spaceships in one of four colors, green, yellow, orange and magenta, drawn from a pool of twenty four ships included in the box, racing or maneuvering their fleet while avoiding the central Godzilla figure. Originally priced at 8.99 dollars, it is a licensed children's board game rather than a strategy heavy title, built primarily around the novelty of its mechanical centerpiece figure.
