GeoGuessr is a geography-based guessing game in which players are dropped into a Google Street View scene with no location label and must deduce where in the world they are standing. Designed by Swedish IT consultant Anton Wallen and released in 2013 through his company GeoGuessr AB in Stockholm, the game rewards players who can read visual clues such as road signage, architecture, vegetation, and vehicle license plates to place a marker as close as possible to the true location. It offers single-player rounds as well as head-to-head and tournament multiplayer modes, and is played through a web browser or dedicated Android, iOS, and Windows apps.
