Forbidden Island (game)

Board game

Forbidden Island is a cooperative board game designed by Matt Leacock and published by Gamewright in 2010. Two to four players each take on a different adventurer role and move across a modular island board, searching for four hidden treasures while the island's tiles progressively sink beneath them. The players win together only if every treasure is recovered and the whole group escapes by helicopter before the island is lost entirely, and they lose together if the island sinks too far or any adventurer is trapped, so the game has no individual winner. Its cooperative structure and relatively quick, accessible rules made it a widely used entry point into modern cooperative board gaming.
