Forbidden Desert

Board game

Forbidden Desert is a cooperative board game designed by Matt Leacock and published by Gamewright, serving as a stand-alone sequel to Leacock's earlier cooperative game Forbidden Island. Two to five players work together as a stranded expedition team searching a shifting desert for the parts of a buried flying machine, managing dwindling water supplies and moving sand storms that constantly reshape the board's tiles, with the whole group winning or losing together depending on whether they can assemble the machine and escape before running out of water or being buried. Like its predecessor it is built for quick teaching and shared decision-making rather than individual competition, and it has also been released as a mobile app version.
