Focus (board game)

Focus is an abstract strategy board game designed by Sid Sackson and first published in 1963 by the German publisher Kosmos. It has been republished many times over the decades since, sometimes appearing under the alternate titles Domination or Dominio, and it supports between two and four players. The game is played on an unusual cross-shaped board where players stack their own and their opponents' pieces into columns, capturing or absorbing enemy pieces as stacks grow, with the goal of removing all of an opponent's pieces from play. Focus won both the Spiel des Jahres and the Essen Feather awards in 1981, cementing its reputation as one of Sid Sackson's most celebrated designs within the wider history of German-style abstract strategy games.
