The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen is a tabletop storytelling role-playing game published by Hogshead Publishing in 1998, based on the fictional eighteenth-century tall-tale-telling character Baron Munchausen. Designed by James Wallis, it uses a minimal, free-form wagering system rather than dice or character sheets, with players narrating outrageous personal exploits while others may interrupt to challenge or embellish the story. It was later reissued by Magnum Opus Press in 2008 and by Fantasy Flight Games in 2016, reflecting its lasting reputation as an influential lightweight storytelling design.
