Everdell

Board game

Everdell is a worker-placement and tableau-building board game designed by James A. Wilson and first published by Starling Games in 2018. Players take the role of woodland critters preparing their community for the arrival of winter, gathering resources such as twigs, resin, pebbles, and berries to construct buildings and recruit anthropomorphic animal characters into an expanding city. Each city card provides ongoing benefits or one-time effects, and players compete across four seasons to accumulate the most prestige points from constructions, critters, events, and special achievements. The game is known for its layered pop-up tree game board and detailed illustrated cards depicting mice, foxes, otters, and other creatures inhabiting the fictional valley of Everdell. It supports one to four players and has been followed by multiple standalone expansions extending the base game's card pool and mechanics.
