Elfenland

Board game

Elfenland is a German-style board game designed by Alan R. Moon, published in German by Amigo Spiele and in English by Rio Grande Games, both editions appearing in 1998. It supports between two and six players and a typical game lasts about sixty minutes. Players take the roles of elves racing to visit as many of twenty scattered towns across a fantasy map as they can within a limited number of turns, using a variety of whimsical modes of transport such as dragons, unicorns and giant snails, each governed by transport tickets that must be collected and played in the right combinations to move between towns. The game won the Spiel des Jahres award in 1998, Germany's most prestigious annual prize for board game design, recognizing it as one of the best new games of that year.
