Electric Football is a tabletop game of American football played on a metal field that vibrates. Small plastic player figures stand on bases with prongs underneath, and when a switch starts the motor under the field, the vibration makes the figures move across the surface. Each coach sets up offensive and defensive formations and can bend the prongs on the bases in advance to shape how fast and in which direction a figure travels. Special figures with an extended arm or spring legs are used to pass, kick and punt a small felt, foam or leather ball. Norman Sas, who had succeeded his father Elmer Sas as president of Tudor Metal Products Corporation, invented Tudor Electric Football in 1948, basing it on a vibrating car race game the company already made. The Tudor Model 620 of 1967 set the standard, and organized leagues now hold tournaments that lead to a world championship.
