Duel Masters Trading Card Game

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

The Duel Masters Trading Card Game is a collectible card game for two players, or for two teams of two, developed jointly by Wizards of the Coast and Takara Tomy, an affiliate of Hasbro, which owns Wizards of the Coast. It is one part of the wider Duel Masters franchise. The game was released in Japan in May 2002, where it became the best-selling trading card game for more than a year, and it reached the United States on March 5, 2004. It shares several similarities with Magic: The Gathering, the first collectible card game, also published by Wizards of the Coast, and the Duel Masters manga story originally grew out of an alternative trade name considered for Magic.
