Disney Lorcana is a trading card game for two to six players, first published in 2023, in which each player takes the role of an Illumineer, a sorcerer who summons Disney characters to fight for them in a fantasy setting called Lorcana. The cards carry original and reimagined Disney character art. Play is built around deck construction and hand management, and an ink resource system lets players turn cards into the currency that pays for other cards, which keeps the pace steady rather than letting one player snowball ahead. Multi-use cards reward improvisation, since the same card can power a song one turn and serve as a delaying tactic the next, so each round asks players to choose between safe play and a calculated risk. Like other collectible card games, it is sold in packs and boxes, and much of the cost of taking part comes from collecting.
