Cathedral (board game)

Space and Territory Games

Cathedral, also published as Cathedral: The Game of the Mediaeval City, is an abstract strategy game for two players designed by Robert Moore and first published in 1979. One side plays the dark pieces and the other the light, and both compete for control of territory inside the walls of an imagined medieval city. Each turn a player places a building piece on the board to enclose and claim space, aiming to set down all or most of their own pieces while preventing the opponent from doing the same. The copyright is currently held by Chrisbo I.P. Holdings Limited of New Zealand.
