Castle (card game)

Matching and Shedding Card Games

Castle, sometimes known as Palace, is a shedding card game designed by Bruno Faidutti, Francesca Flores and Serge Laget, with art by Emmanuel Roudier, for two to five players. It is not to be confused with the card game Palace, also called Shithead. The winner is the first player to get rid of all of their cards. Players are dealt square cards that are played onto a table with a cardboard castle battlement layout, into one of four regions: the courtyard, the battlements, the towers or outside the castle. A card played usually allows the player a special action unique to that card. Castle won the 2000 Concours International de Créateurs de Jeux de Société.
