Cashflow 101 is a board game designed by the investor and author Robert Kiyosaki and first released in 1996. It is built to teach financial strategy and accounting principles through play: two to six players roll the dice and move around the board, meeting situations such as paying bills, taking out loans, buying stocks and real estate and speculating in commodities. Players are encouraged to negotiate and to make co-investments with one another rather than only compete. A full game is long, about three hours, and the board tracks each player's cash flow as income from assets set against expenses. Kiyosaki followed it with a more advanced companion game, Cashflow 202, and the game is classed as a simulation with roll-and-move movement and paper-and-pencil record keeping.
