Capes & Cowls

Modern Hobby Strategy Games

Capes & Cowls, whose full title is Capes & Cowls: Adventures in Wyrd City and which is often shortened to C&C, is an expandable superhero board game presented as a book in a box. It is based on Capes & Cowls: The Wyrd City Chronicles, a work by Robin Spriggs. Wyrd House Press released it commercially in 2006, but according to the publisher, Jazz Lieberman, the game had been in private circulation for well over a decade before that. Being expandable, the game is designed to grow beyond its first box. It is notable for combining a literary setting with tabletop play, and for having circulated privately for years before its commercial release.
