Beggar-my-neighbour is a simple card game in which the players make no choices at all, so the outcome follows entirely from the order of the cards. It is also known as strip jack naked, beat your neighbour out of doors, beat jack out of doors and beat your neighbour. In nature it resembles the children's card game War, in which play likewise proceeds mechanically, and it has given rise to a more complicated variant, Egyptian Ratscrew. Because the game is choice-free, it is closer to a procedure carried out with cards than to a contest of skill.
