Android: Netrunner is a two-player expandable card game set in the dystopian Android science fiction universe, in which one player takes the role of a megacorporation defending valuable data and the other plays a hacker, called a runner, trying to break in and steal it. It was designed by Richard Garfield with Lukas Litzsinger, Damon Stone and Michael Boggs, and published by Fantasy Flight Games beginning in 2012 as a reimagining of Garfield's earlier Netrunner collectible card game, which Wizards of the Coast had released in 1996. Fantasy Flight Games discontinued the game in 2018 when its license to the Android setting expired, but the player-run studio Null Signal Games has continued producing new cards, organizing tournaments and supporting the game since 2019. The asymmetric structure, in which the two sides use entirely different card pools and win conditions, has been widely praised and studied as a distinctive design within the collectible and living card game genre.
