Events

This category holds event entities relevant to sporting history: a record-breaking performance, a historic match or final, the founding of a competition or governing body, or a landmark rule change that reshaped a sport. The wider cultural or political context of an event belongs to the History atlas under the family's cross-atlas seam; this atlas records only the sporting facet of the event and connects out rather than duplicating the fuller narrative held elsewhere.
