EuroBasket

Continental Championships

EuroBasket, also called the European Basketball Championship, is the main international tournament for the senior men's national basketball teams of Europe. FIBA Europe, the continental zone of the International Basketball Federation, organises it, and it was first held in Switzerland in 1935, is now played every four years, and its 1941 edition was cancelled because of the Second World War. The Soviet Union holds the record with fourteen gold medals, while Yugoslavia, Spain, Greece, Lithuania, Italy, France, Slovenia and Germany have also won titles. Today 24 national teams reach the final tournament through qualifiers, play a group round, and then enter a single-elimination knockout stage with a bronze medal game. Germany won the 2025 title.
