The Copa Interamericana, or Interamerican Cup, was an international football competition endorsed by CONCACAF and CONMEBOL. It was established in 1969 and discontinued in 1998, after CONCACAF clubs, particularly those from Mexico, began taking part in CONMEBOL competitions. It was meant to be contested between the winners of the CONCACAF Champions Cup and the Copa Libertadores, usually over a two-legged tie, but it was common for several consecutive editions to go unheld. Eighteen tournaments were played and won by 13 different clubs. Independiente of Argentina won a record three titles, and the last winner was D.C. United of the United States in 1998.
