Alexei Konstantinovich Yagudin is a Russian former figure skater born March 18, 1980, in Leningrad, who won the gold medal in men's singles at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. A four time World champion in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002, and a three time European champion, he is the only skater in any discipline to complete a Golden Slam by winning every major championship in a single season, 2001-2002. At the 2002 World Championships he received six perfect 6.0 marks for his short program, a record that can no longer be equaled after figure skating changed its judging system.
