Jonathan dos Santos Ramírez, born in Mexico City on 26 April 1990, is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. As a boy he competed with his brother Giovani in a youth tournament in France, where scouts from Barcelona spotted both brothers and brought them to La Masia for a trial. In the summer of 2009 manager Luis Enrique selected him for Barcelona B, and Pep Guardiola then called him up to the first team during pre-season, and he won the 2013 Supercopa de España with the club. He was left out of Mexico's squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, was named in the 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and scored his first senior international goal in a 4-2 friendly win over Paraguay on 26 March 2019. In the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup final he scored the goal that gave Mexico a 1-0 victory over the United States.
