Football Codes

Ferenc Puskas was a Hungarian footballer and one of the most prolific goalscorers in the sport's history. He was the leading forward of the Hungarian national team of the early 1950s, known as the Mighty Magyars, which lost only one match in a run of several years including a famous defeat of England at Wembley. After the 1956 Hungarian uprising he left Hungary and went on to star for Real Madrid, winning multiple European Cup titles. FIFA's annual award for the year's best goal is named in his honor.
