Henri Kontinen, born on 19 June 1990, is a Finnish former professional tennis player who reached world number one in doubles. Knee injuries ended his singles ambitions early, after a career-high singles ranking of 220, and in 2013 he decided to concentrate on doubles. As a junior he won the 2008 French Open boys' doubles title with Christopher Rungkat and reached the final of the 2008 Wimbledon boys' singles. On the senior tour he won the 2017 Australian Open men's doubles with John Peers and the 2016 Wimbledon mixed doubles with Heather Watson, and the pair also won the ATP Finals in 2016 and 2017. On 3 April 2017 he became the first Finnish player, male or female, to hold the world number one doubles ranking. He has played Davis Cup for Finland since 2008, often alongside his younger brother Micke, who is also a former tennis player.
