Does Mohamed Salah still hold the Premier League record for goals in a season?
No. His 32 goals in 2017/18 were a record for a 38-game season, but Erling Haaland later scored 36.
Not any longer. Salah scored 32 goals for Liverpool in 2017/18, which made him the highest scorer in a 38-game Premier League season at the time, and won the Golden Boot. The Premier League has since described that tally as bettered only by Erling Haaland, who scored 36 in 2022/23, and by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer, who each scored 34 in the 1990s.
