Bobby Orr

Hockey Codes

Robert Gordon Orr is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman widely considered one of the greatest athletes in the sport's history. Playing primarily for the Boston Bruins from 1966 to 1976, he transformed the defenceman position through offensive innovation, winning eight consecutive Norris Trophies as the NHL's best defenceman and twice leading the league in scoring, the only defenceman ever to do so. Knee injuries curtailed his career, and he retired in 1978 at age 30, having already been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame the previous year at age 31, then the youngest inductee.
