FAQs

How did Savickas come back from his 2001 injury?

He won national titles within a year and took second at the 2002 World's Strongest Man.

In 2001 Savickas tore both patellar tendons during the Conan's Wheel event at a contest in the Faroe Islands, an injury many believed had ended his career. Nine months later he won the Lithuanian powerlifting championships, and a short time after that he won the 2002 Lithuania's Strongest Man contest. He then finished second at the 2002 World's Strongest Man in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and went on to win that title in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
