Susanne Augustesen, known as Susy, is a Danish former international footballer, born on 10 May 1956, who played as a forward. At fifteen she took part in the unofficial 1971 Women's World Cup in Mexico, where she scored a hat-trick in the final as Denmark beat the hosts 3-0 at the Estadio Azteca in front of about 110,000 spectators. She moved to Italy in 1974 to join Bologna and spent more than twenty years in Italian club football, scoring over 600 goals in the top flight and finishing as Serie A top goalscorer on eight occasions. The Danish Football Association only took over the women's game afterwards, and despite her career in Italy she was never called up to its official national team. She was inducted into the Danish Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
