Bernard Thévenet, born on 10 January 1948, is a retired professional cyclist whose sporting career began with the club ACBB Paris. He is a two-time winner of the Tour de France and is known for ending the reign of the five-time Tour champion Eddy Merckx. Both of those feats are tarnished by his later admission of steroids use during his career. He also won the Dauphiné Libéré in 1975 and 1976. He is recorded here as a road cyclist whose career combines major stage-race success with a frank later admission about doping in the sport.
