Aleksandr Kokorin

Football Codes

Aleksandr Kokorin, born Aleksandr Kartashov on 19 March 1991, is a Russian former professional footballer who played as a forward. He made his debut for the senior team of FC Dynamo Moscow on 4 October 2008 as a substitute and scored an equalizer that day, becoming the youngest player to score a goal for the club in the Russian Premier League at 17 years and 199 days. His breakthrough season was 2012-13, after which Dynamo Moscow inserted a release clause of 19 million euros into his contract. In July 2013 he agreed terms with Anzhi Makhachkala, but a restructuring of that club sent him back to Dynamo within weeks. A full international for Russia since 2011, he earned more than 45 caps and was named in the Russian squads for Euro 2012, the 2014 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2016. In October 2018 he was arrested on an assault-related charge, was later found guilty and spent about a year in prison.
