Tomass Dukurs, born on 2 July 1981 in Riga, is a Latvian skeleton racer who competed from 1998 until 2022, a career of about twenty-four years. He took part in three Winter Olympics and finished fourth in the men's skeleton event twice, at Vancouver in 2010 and again at Sochi in 2014, each time just short of a medal. Skeleton is a winter sliding sport in which the athlete rides a small sled head first down an ice track. His Olympic results make him one of the best known skeleton athletes to come from Latvia.
