Hossein Rezazadeh is an Iranian retired Olympic weightlifter born May 12, 1978, in Ardabil, who competed in the super heavyweight, over 105 kilogram, division and is widely regarded as one of the sport's greatest athletes. He won Olympic gold at the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Games, becoming the first non-Soviet, non-Russian athlete to win the super heavyweight title at a non-boycotted Olympics since 1960, and he added four World Weightlifting Championship titles, in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006, plus multiple world records in the snatch and clean and jerk. He was named Iran's Sportsperson of the Year four times, more than any other athlete in the country's history.

Turkey offered him money and a villa to switch nationality before the 2004 Olympics, and he declined, staying with Iran.
Yes, he was offered the chance, and he refused. After his world record in the clean and jerk at the 2002 World Weightlifting Championships in Warsaw, Turkey's weightlifting federation offered him a monthly stipend, a luxury villa and a large cash reward if he switched nationality and won gold for Turkey at the 2004 Athens Olympics. He turned the offer down, saying that he was an Iranian and loved his country and people. He went on to win gold for Iran at those Games.
