Rolando Antonio Blackman, born on 26 February 1959, is a Panamanian-American former professional basketball player who spent 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association, most of them with the Dallas Mavericks. He was born in Panama City, Panama, and raised in Brooklyn, New York, from the age of eight. At Kansas State University he played under coach Jack Hartman, was named Big Eight Conference Player of the Year in 1980 and finished with 1,844 career points, the second-highest total in the school's history. He was chosen for the 1980 United States Olympic basketball team but did not play because of the American boycott of those Games. The Mavericks drafted him ninth overall in 1981, and he became the first Panamanian-born player in the NBA. He was a four-time NBA All-Star and holds the Mavericks franchise record for free throws made in a single game, 22.
