Helene Engelmann, later known by the married name Jaroschka, was an Austrian pair skater who was born on 9 February 1898 and died on 1 August 1985. Skating with Alfred Berger she became the 1924 Olympic champion in pairs and a two-time world champion, and she also won a further world title in partnership with Karl Mejstrik. The introduction of her Wikipedia biography supports only this outline of her competitive career, so her training, her clubs, the exact years of each world title and her later life are left for a deeper pass rather than guessed at. She is recorded here as an Olympic and world champion in figure skating pairs, which places her among the winter sports athletes of the atlas.
