Tony Estanguet is a French canoe slalom paddler born May 6, 1978, in Pau, who won three Olympic gold medals in the men's C1 canoe single event, at the 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens and 2012 London Games, becoming the first French Olympian to win three gold medals in the same discipline. He won twelve medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, five of them gold, competed internationally from 1994 to 2012, and later led Paris's successful bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics before heading that Games' organizing committee.
