Sebastian Brendel is a German sprint canoeist and the 2016 Olympic champion in both the C-1 1000 meters and C-2 1000 meters events. His Olympic medal record spans three Summer Games, 2012, 2016 and 2020, and totals three gold medals and one bronze. He has also won 13 gold medals at ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships and 14 gold medals at European Championships, making him one of the sport's most decorated athletes.
