Polo is a team sport played on horseback in which players use a long handled mallet to drive a small hard ball into the opposing team's goal. Traditionally played on a grass field with four riders per side, it is one of the oldest known team sports, with origins traced to Central Asia, and its players are ranked by an official handicap running from minus two to ten goals.
