Hamid Reza Dastmalchi is an Iranian American professional poker player who built his reputation on the Las Vegas tournament circuit through the 1980s and 1990s. His signature achievement came in 1992, when he won the World Series of Poker Main Event and its one million dollar first prize, the largest single score of his career. Over the years he added two further WSOP bracelets to that win, finishing with more than 1.8 million dollars in recorded tournament earnings. Dastmalchi is remembered as one of a small group of Iranian born players who reached the top of the WSOP Main Event in its early decades.
