AB de Villiers, full name Abraham Benjamin de Villiers, is a South African former cricketer born February 17, 1984, in Warmbad, widely regarded as one of the greatest batters in the sport's history. He represented South Africa from 2004 to 2018 across all three formats, scoring 8,765 Test runs, 9,577 One Day International runs and 1,672 Twenty20 International runs, with a batting average above 50 in both the Test and ODI formats. He set the ODI records for the fastest fifty, off 16 balls, fastest century, off 31 balls, and fastest 150, off 64 balls, by any batter, captained South Africa across all three formats during the 2010s, won the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year award three times, in 2010, 2014 and 2015, and was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2024.
